SMS Terms
These are the standard terms for trip notification text messages sent through RydGenie. They apply in addition to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Last updated September 4, 2026
Who is texting you
The sender is the transportation company you booked with — not RydGenie. RenzaGroup provides the software they use to send trip notifications. Their program is named after them, for example Acme Limousine Ride Alerts, and messages arrive from their own number.
Message frequency varies by trip activity — typically 2 to 6 messages per reservation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help.
1. Program description
Each transportation operator using RydGenie runs its own messaging program, named “[Operator name] Ride Alerts”. Every one of them is a Customer Care / Delivery Notifications (transactional) program: messages follow from a trip you booked. These programs do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
You may receive:
- Reservation confirmations and itinerary changes
- Quote-ready and payment-due notices
- Driver assigned, en route, and arrived alerts
- Flight-delay and pickup-time adjustments
- Post-trip receipts
RenzaGroup sends messages under its own name only to the transportation operators who are its customers — platform and billing notices. Passengers never receive a message branded RydGenie.
2. How you opt in
You consent to receive text messages from an operator when you:
- Tick the SMS consent box when booking a trip or creating an account in their booking portal. The box is never pre-ticked.
- Provide your mobile number to their dispatcher and verbally agree to trip notifications.
- Text a keyword to their number in response to a published call to action.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can book, pay for and take a trip without ever agreeing to text messages. Declining SMS only means you receive trip updates by email or phone instead.
Consent is given to one operator and applies only to that operator’s program. It is not shared between operators, and opting in with one never opts you in with another.
Only the person who owns the mobile number may opt it in. Do not enter someone else’s number without their permission.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies by trip activity — typically 2 to 6 messages per reservation.
Frequency depends on your own activity: a single airport transfer typically generates a confirmation, a driver-assigned alert, an arrival alert and a receipt. A multi-stop charter or a changed flight will generate more.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Neither RenzaGroup nor your transportation operator charges you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may charge for messages sent and received under your plan. Contact your carrier if you are unsure about your plan.
5. How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message to cancel. We also accept END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and then no further messages from that operator.
To resubscribe, reply START (UNSTOP and YES also work), or ask the operator to opt you back in. Opting out of text messages does not cancel your reservation — the operator will contact you by email or phone instead.
6. How to get help
Reply HELP to any message for support information. HELP replies identify the operator who sent the message and give their support contact, since they — not RydGenie — are arranging your trip.
If you cannot reach the operator, or your question is about the platform itself, contact support@renzagroup.com or (323) 327-6009.
7. Carriers and delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is best-effort and depends on your carrier, device and coverage. Because delivery is not guaranteed, do not rely solely on text messages for time-critical trip information — your reservation details are always available in the operator’s booking portal and in your emailed confirmation.
8. Changing your mobile number
Tell your operator if you change or give up your mobile number, so nobody messages a person who has been reassigned it. You can update your number in their booking portal or by contacting them directly.
9. Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the messaging aggregators and communication providers required to deliver your messages.
RenzaGroup processes your mobile number on the operator’s behalf solely to deliver the messages you asked for. It is not used to build a marketing list, is not sold, and is not shared with other operators on the platform. Our full Privacy Policy explains everything else we collect and why.
10. For operators using RydGenie
If you send messages to passengers through RydGenie, you are the sender of record. You are registered with the mobile carriers as your own brand and campaign under RenzaGroup’s platform registration, and you are responsible for:
- Collecting and recording consent before any message is sent, including the exact wording shown and when it was agreed to.
- Honouring STOP immediately, and never messaging a number that has opted out.
- Keeping your registered business details accurate and matching your carrier filing.
- Sending only the transactional message types listed in section 1 — marketing requires a separate campaign registration.
The platform enforces what it can — consent is recorded, opt-outs suppress sending — but the registration and the obligation are yours.
11. Changes
We may update these standard terms. Changes are posted here with a new date. If a change materially affects the program, subscribers will be notified before it takes effect.
