How operators opt in to text messages from RydGenie

RydGenie is a product of RenzaGroup. These messages go to the transportation operators who subscribe to the platform — about their own account, never to their passengers. This page shows exactly how consent is collected, what the consent language says, and how to stop messages at any time.

For carrier and compliance reviewers

This page evidences the RydGenie Platform Alerts campaign, registered under the RenzaGroup brand. The recipients are operator staff, not passengers. A separate campaign and a separate page cover an operator texting their own passengers — see passenger opt-in.

The live control below is the same component rendered at https://my.rydgenie.com/settings/notifications. That screen is behind a sign-in, so this page publishes the flow at a public address. The form is inert — nothing submits and no number entered here is collected.

1. Who sends, and who receives

  • Sender: RydGenie, a product of RenzaGroup — the brand this campaign is registered under.
  • Recipients: staff at the transportation companies that subscribe to RydGenie. Business contacts, not consumers, and never a passenger.
  • Content: account and support notices only — subscription and billing, service alerts, and replies to support requests the operator started. No marketing.

2. Where the opt-in appears

An operator signs in to the RydGenie portal and opens Settings › Notifications. They add a mobile number and are offered account alerts beside it. Giving a number is not consent — the checkbox is separate, and a number can be saved without ticking it.

3. The opt-in, exactly as an operator sees it

Mobile number

Where RydGenie sends account notices. Giving a number is not agreeing to texts — that is the separate box below.

The checkbox is shown here unticked, which is how it is always shown to someone who has not opted in.

4. The rules this flow follows

  • The box is never pre-ticked. A pre-selected box is not consent, so the control has no default-checked state for a first-time subscriber.
  • Consent is never required. An operator can subscribe to RydGenie, pay for it and use every feature without agreeing to text messages. The field is never marked required.
  • Consent is separate from contact details. Saving a mobile number for dispatch or support does not opt that number in. Only the checkbox does.
  • Only the number’s owner may opt it in. The consent record is written against the signed-in person, never a number posted on someone else’s behalf.
  • What was agreed to is recorded. The exact consent wording shown, the timestamp, and the screen it was given on are stored, so consent can be evidenced for as long as messages are sent.

5. Disclosures made at the point of consent

The consent text above carries all of these, before anything is agreed to:

  • The program name — RydGenie Platform Alerts.
  • What the messages are: account and billing notices, service alerts, and replies to support requests the operator started.
  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help.
  • Links to the Terms and Privacy Policy.

6. Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message. END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT are accepted too. One confirmation follows and then nothing further. Replying START resubscribes; replying HELP returns RydGenie support contact details.

The same switch is in the portal at Settings › Notifications, and turning it off there is identical to replying STOP. Opting out never affects the operator’s subscription, and never affects the trip messages their passengers receive from them.

7. What happens to the number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the messaging aggregators and communication providers required to deliver the messages.

Full detail is in the Privacy Policy and the Terms.
